Brook , the flower looks fine , how did you make it , did you leave the template in while stitching , if not that helps a great deal and also stitch with the petals right sides to the center of the flower just catching the edge of the petals then move on to the next petal etc. It will get easier with each flower . Have fun!

Your flower is cute. As Sheila said in the first comment, it helps most to leave the templates in while stitching. I also tried stitching the outer circle first and that seemed much harder to sew for me. Now I sew the outside petals to the inner circle as I go. Keep going. You'll love it.
Your fabric is very pretty. They get better with practice and yes keep in the templates, I also sew on each petal as I go. I make 2 stitches in each corner and that seems to help keep the shape.
